Lyft Becomes the Official Rideshare Partner of Events DC

 Lyft, the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S., and Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, announce an exclusive partnership making Lyft the official rideshare partner of Events DC. While this mutually beneficial agreement will enhance corporate brand awareness and consumer engagement for both organizations, Lyft will gain increased access to the diverse audiences of more than 1.9 million visitors Events DC attracts annually to the nation’s capital.
 
“Events DC is excited to kick off a new partnership with Lyft that both provides our venue guests with convenient and cost-efficient transportation options as well as offer brand-alignment and activation opportunities for the rideshare company,” said Gregory A. O’Dell, president and chief executive officer of Events DC. “Our Strategic Partners Initiative allows us to integrate corporate partners in all three facets of our business, hosting customer events in our venues, producing our own events and supporting community-based organizations and initiatives throughout the District.”
 
Lyft has become the official rideshare partner of Events DC, which will increase brand presence at all Events DC managed facilities, including the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, across the whole 190-acre RFK Stadium-Armory Campus and the brand new Entertainment and Sports Arena in Congress Heights.  This formal partnership will provide an ease of use for the thousands of passengers and drivers who are currently taking Lyft to the various events within these facilities by providing dedicated pickup and drop-off zones, which can be customized for each event accounting for traffic patterns.

Events DC’s Strategic Partners Initiative, a program that formalizes corporate partnerships with reciprocal brand-alignment opportunities, provides corporations with increased in-venue brand visibility, engagement with business, public sector and consumer market segments and access to activation opportunities during major city-wide events.

Since 2016, Lyft and Events DC have been working closely, with Lyft supporting a variety of events hosted at Events DC managed facilities as well as Lyft sponsoring Events DC produced events, including Events DC Cherry Blast and Events DC Embassy Chef Challenge.
