Mayor Bowser, the Washington Mystics and Events DC Host Game 5 WNBA Finals Watch Party at Gateway DC Tonight


WHAT: The Washington Mystics will take on the Connecticut Sun for Game 5 of the WNBA Finals today, Thursday, October 10, at their home court, the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
In collaboration with the Executive Office of the Mayor and the Washington Mystics, Events DC, the city’s sports authority, will  host a viewing party at Gateway DC Pavilion. The viewing party will begin at 6:30 PM located next to the red lot; the game will begin at 8:00 PM
“Mystics in five! This has been an incredible season and an incredible finals, and I can’t wait to join Washingtonians from across DC in cheering on the Mystics to their first-ever franchise championship,” said DC Mayor Muriel Bowser. “With it all on the line, the sixth woman can make all the difference. So, if you’re not watching from inside the Entertainment and Sports Arena, join us at Gateway, and together, DC, let’s bring home a championship!”
The series is tied 2-2, with the Mystics winning Game 1 and Game 3. After completing the best year in franchise history, Washington, DC fans stand together in all red to support the Mystics on winning their first WNBA championship!
This free, family-friendly event will feature a large screen, food and activations.  Attendees are encouraged to take public transportation or rideshare options to Gateway.
