About the Carnegie Library

More than a hundred years after the Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square first opened its doors, the restored Beaux-Arts beauty, located in the heart of downtown DC, has put out the welcome mat for the next generation.

The Carnegie Library has been transformed into a community hub with the location of a global flagship Apple store and a reinvented DC History Center, all open for hands-on learning and creativity.

Connecting the District’s storied past with its dynamic future – the Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square is where discovery happens in DC.
