'Tis the Season to Give
On November 23, the 22nd annual Feast of Sharing took place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Serve DC teamed up with Safeway and Events DC to package 5,000 meals & gift bags that will be provided to to 19 nonprofits in all wards across the district.
This year, due to the COVID19 pandemic, Feast of Sharing did not include the traditional live event with a crowd.

The gift bags contain winter clothing accessories and personal protective items, including a winter hat and scarf, a pair of gloves and socks, a face mask, and a toilet kit.
“For over two decades, we have proudly joined with Safeway and other dedicated area partners to host this beloved citywide event in support of our community,” Gregory A. O’Dell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Events DC said. “Safeway Feast of Sharing, Reimagined unites communities across the District by providing nutritious meals and personal items to neighbors in all eight Wards through the support of vital community service organizations.
