The Washington Mystics are the premier professional women’s basketball team playing in Washington, DC. Established in 1997, the Mystics are one of the first Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) expansion franchises to be established and the longest tenured continuously operating women’s professional sports team in Washington, DC. Food for Thought: A Monthly Resilience & Readiness Series Led by Silas Grant

Food for Thought is a dynamic monthly resilience and readiness series created to support the personal and professional growth of first responders and public safety professionals — while remaining open to anyone seeking practical tools for mental strength and leadership development.

Each session provides a dedicated space for meaningful dialogue, skill-building and mindset training designed to enhance performance, strengthen emotional resilience and promote overall well-being. Rooted in real conversations and actionable strategies, this ongoing series goes beyond awareness to equip participants with sustainable tools to lead effectively, serve confidently and thrive both on and off duty.

People’s Pan-African Wellness Front- Health Services for the People by the People

The People’s Pan-African Wellness Front (PPWF) is a community-based grassroots program led by PACA to confront the health disparities impacting African/Black working-class communities in Southeast Washington, DC. Inspired by revolutionary legacies like the Black Panther Party’s People’s Free Medical Clinics and the Cuban healthcare model, this program seeks to deliver immediate relief while organizing toward long-term self-determination and community control of health.

The PPWF will provide:
• Free high blood pressure screenings
• Free glucose tests (diabetes screening) (available upon request)
• Free hygiene products and medical supplies
• Free health information and guidance for preventative care
