Day of Play at RFK
The fifth annual Day of Play at RFK presented by Giant Food, is an annual Events DC signature event that gathered over 3,600 attendees and celebrated DC250 with the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents opening with a race with Ward 7 Councilmember Felder and Events DC’s Executive Vice President, Dr. Steven G. Johnson.
This sports-focused day featured some of Washington, DC’s professional sports teams and athletes like DC United’s Matti Peltola and Jackson Hopkins and NASCAR’s Rajah Caruth. Food truck row featured iconic food from America’s popular cities that are also partaking in America’s 250th birthday. Community Partners Row had over 25 community organizations that connected attendees to their programs ranging across the District.

RFK Skate Park Closure
The Skate Park at the RFK Campus is scheduled to be closed from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 22, for maintenance. During this period, the skate park will be closed to the public and a temporary fence will be erected around the area.
Project Glow Festival
Celebrating over 20 years of dance music, peace, love, unity and respect, Project GLOW comes to the RFK Festival Grounds for year five on May 30-31. Throughout the weekend fans will dance to the sounds of some of EDM’s biggest headliners and edgiest artists. Show times are from 1:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. daily, expect increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic around the RFK Campus during this time.
Around the World Embassy Tour
The Around the World Embassy Tour takes place May 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., inviting visitors to step inside dozens of embassies across Washington, DC for a one-day global experience. Guests can explore international cultures through food, music and art as participating countries open their doors to the public. It is a rare chance to travel the world without leaving the city.
Anacostia River Discovery Boat Series
Join the Anacostia Watershed Society for the Anacostia River Discovery Series boat tour on Thursday, June 25, launching from Kingman Island's dock on the Anacostia River. You’ll explore the ecological and historical changes that have occurred in the river and in the communities around the river and witness some of the restoration of river habitats and how it has caused the rebound of the wildlife in the Anacostia River.
