June 2026 Update
Events DC has been maximizing sustainability throughout the demolition of RFK Stadium. Sustainability has been central to the project's planning and implementation. We are proud to report that approximately 95% of demolition waste has been diverted from the landfill and recycled, including:
- 49,000 tons of concrete (reused on site)
- 7,384 tons of steel
- 1,340 tons of metal
- 818 tons of asphalt
- 16 tons of plastics
95% diversion far exceeds code requirements.
