My first and middle names have a unique story. Before I was born, my mother asked her sisters, my sister, and her niece (my cousin) what my name should be. My cousin, who had a dear friend named Pamela, asked my mother to name me Pamela. My middle name is a derivative of part of my mother's name (EthelRENE). Although the typical spelling of the pronunciation of my middle name is either "Renee," or "Rene', " my mother decided to substitute an "a" for the second "e," making it "Rena."
The origin of my first name is Greek and was invented in the 16th century by Poet Sir Philip Sidney. The meaning is, "all sweetness" or "all honey," which I have heard suits me. The spelling of my middle name, "Rena," is of Hebrew origin that inspires thought of heartwarming music, and means "joy" or "melody". Although my mother did not know the origin of my middle name, she encouraged me to learn piano at a young age. As a result, music is in my blood. I also enjoy music with positive messages and am always singing. My last name, "Person", is an Americanized form (and a very rare Swedish variant) of "Persson" or "Pehrsson." My name, "Pamela Rena Person," exemplifies my cultural background and what I am - a melting pot.
