Supporting Meaningful Summer Programs for DC Youth

When school is out, opportunity should still be in. At Events DC, we recognize the crucial role non-profit organizations play in shaping the summer experiences of DC youth. Through the Events DC Youth Development Grant Program, we provide financial support to help organizations deliver impactful, sports-related extracurricular programs and activities, that educate, engage, and empower young people.

We know how challenging it can be to fund these vital initiatives. That’s why Events DC is proud to offer immediate grant funding to help eligible non-profits offer summer programs that build valuable life skills and foster youth development.

  • Total Funding Available: $1,000,000
  • Application Opens: June 13, 2025
  • Application Period: September 30, 2025
  • Eligible Applicants: DC-based non-profit organizations
  • Focus: Programs scheduled for Summer 2025 that promote youth participation in sports-related activities

How to Apply

Non-profit organizations that can successfully plan, promote, and operate sports-related youth programs in Washington, DC are encouraged to apply. We’re here to support your mission every step of the way.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Youth Development Grants, an Organization must:

  • be a DC-based non-profit organization that:
    • was duly incorporated in the District of Columbia, as evidenced by Articles of Incorporation filed with the District of Columbia Department of License and Consumer and Protection, or any of its predecessor agencies including the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (“DCRA”) (collectively such agency and its predecessors are, the “DLCP”);

    • has been certified as tax exempt in accordance with criteria set forth by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Tax Code and granted an exemption from District of Columbia income and franchise taxes, pursuant to DC Code § 47-1802.01;

       

  • submit to Events DC a “responsive and complete” Application, together with all other supplemental information and supporting documentation, describing its proposed Eligible Program and how it will use a Youth Development Grant, if awarded one, to offer a summer program for DC youth designed to provide them with meaningful and impactful sports-related extracurricular activities to enhance their youth development skills; and

 

  • provide Events DC with (as part of its Application) a copy of its annual audited financial statements prepared by a certified public accountant for its most recent fiscal year or, if the Organization does not have such audited financial statements, a copy of the Organization’s IRS Form 990 for the most recent tax year.
