Jazz in the Wharf

Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia returned as a major sponsor for the 17th Annual DC JazzFest, on September 1-5, 2021.  The sponsorship builds upon Events DC’s 12-year relationship with the dynamic jazz nonprofit, reinforces the authority’s mission of leveraging the attraction of the nation’s capital with one-of-a-kind event experiences, and raises the profile of the District as a premier destination for jazz.

“We are proud to continue our support of the DC JazzFest,” said Greg O’Dell, president, and chief executive officer at Events DC. “As a city with a deep appreciation for jazz and its importance in jazz history, the return of the DC JazzFest to the Wharf is highly anticipated across the District and beyond after such a challenging year. This event celebrates a quintessentially American music genre that has the unique ability to unite people from diverse backgrounds. Together, we look forward to spotlighting Washington, DC as not only a thriving music capital but a global cultural destination as well.”

For seventeen years, the DC JazzFest® has served as a pillar to the communities of our culturally-diverse nation’s capital, attracting thousands of visitors from across the world and a key contributor to the city’s economic growth each year. Last year alone, more than 200,000 people attended DC JazzFest virtually, which included more than 40 concerts broadcast across more than 10 venues including DC JazzFest at The Wharf. The full lineup for the 17th Annual DC JazzFest will be announced on Thursday, May 7tth.
