Group Overview
Established in 1881, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is the largest nonprofit,
scientific and educational organization dedicated to managing and treating water, the world’s
most important resource. With approximately 50,000 members, AWWA provides solutions to
improve public health, protect the environment, strengthen the economy and enhance our quality
of life.
Among the 200 or more meetings conducted by the Association each year are numerous
professional seminars, committee and council meetings, specialty conferences, and an annual
meeting . . . the AWWA Annual Conference & Exposition.
The Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE) held each summer in June, is an international,
city-wide meeting attracting 11,000 to 12,000 people for professional education sessions,
networking events, over 200 committee meetings, and an exposition with more than 500 leadingedge
exhibitors, showcasing the best in water industry products and services.
