Day of Play Returns to The Fields at RFK

Day of Play 2022

Day of Play 2022

Events DC invites area youth to the Second Annual Day of Play at RFK, a signature community event that kicks off DC Public Schools’ Spring Break, ahead of Events DC’s Spring Festival season. The four-hour, free, family-based event is filled with field games, music and all-around fun for all ages.

Activities are scheduled to begin at noon on Monday, April 17, 2023. A rain date is slated for April 18, 2023.

“I can’t think of a better way to kick-off spring break than with a family fun day at The Fields at RFK.” said Events DC President and CEO Angie M. Gates. “Day of Play provides a day of free fun for residents who want to be active and get to know their community. It’s also a great way to keep kids engaged during their time off from school.”

Giant Food is the presenting partner for this year’s Day of Play.

“At Giant we are proud to support programs that provide a place for families and kids to come together and be active,” said Felis Andrade, Director of External Communications and Community Relations at Giant Food. “We are excited to be part of Day of Play this year and provide free health and wellness resources to the community.”

Several games and activities will be provided by DC’s Department of Parks and Recreation, DC Fray and other local organizations.

Day of Play was the first Events DC-branded event since the launch of The Fields in 2019. In 2022 nearly 3,000 attendees from all eight Wards enjoyed The Fields.
