WASHINGTON, DC (August 1, 2017) â€“ Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, will host Georgetown University football for the first time at RFK Stadium on September 30. Tickets for the non-conference game against Harvard University are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.

"Events DC is proud to open the gates of RFK Stadium to the Hoyas," said Erik A. Moses, senior vice president and managing director of sports, entertainment, and special events at Events DC. "Being able to provide student-athletes with an experience to play in a historic NFL venue will be something they remember forever."

Over the past 56 years, RFK Stadium has hosted the football teams of George Washington University, Howard University, Naval Academy, and the University of Maryland.

"I am very excited to have the opportunity for our student-athletes to play in historic RFK Stadium against a quality Ivy League opponent in Harvard University," Georgetown Head Coach Rob Sgarlata said. “We constantly talk about Defending the District and are committed to recruiting the local student-athletes from the talent-rich DMV area. This game will provide an incredible opportunity to showcase our program while competing against one of the top academic and athletic programs in the country. I am looking forward to seeing the local and national Hoya football family at RFK Stadium for the game."

Tickets for September 30 are now available via Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.com, 1-800-745-3000). All seating is general admission. Discounts are available for youth (ages 3-17) and members of the military; children two and under do not require a ticket for entry. More information about parking and tailgating will be available in the coming weeks through Georgetown Athletics Ticket Office (WeAreGeorgetown.com, 202-687-HOYA (4692), hoyatickets@georgetown.edu).

As part of Events DC's on-going commitment to the local community, tickets will be donated through community leaders, non-profit organizations and school officials to provide youth from around the District with an opportunity to watch the game at the stadium.

Other community engagement endeavors include hosting a Community Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 20 at the Skate Park at RFK Stadium that will include the unveiling of the newly-painted Skate Park by nationally-acclaimed visual artist Naturel, back to school giveaways, food, music, and demonstrations from professional skateboarders.
