EA Ligue 1 Games Are Coming To Audi Field This July

Four Of The Top French Soccer Teams Are Coming To Washington, DC

Four teams from France’s top division, French Ligue 1, will participate in a tournament at Audi Field on July 18 and 21. The participating clubs include FCG Bordeaux, Montpellier HSC, Olympique de Marseille and AS Saint-Etienne. The EA Sports Ligue 1 Games will give DC soccer fans a chance to see top European talent at the home of professional soccer in the nation’s capital.

Tickets are available now on ticketmaster.com for each day individually, July 18 and July 21. Each of the teams’ players and coaches are visiting Washington, DC from July 16 – 22 and two of the clubs will host their training sessions on the RFK Campus. Between games and training sessions, the club personnel will take in all the cultural and culinary offerings that the District has to offer.

DC Jazzfest Announces 2020 Dates!

This Year's DC Jazz Festival Brought 170,000 People Together To Celebrate 15 Years Of Jazz In The District

The DC Jazz Festival® (DCJF) just concluded a remarkable 15th anniversary celebration, welcoming a bounty of locally, nationally, and internationally acclaimed artists, as well as a wide range of fans, to the nation’s capital for 10 days of live entertainment. From the sold-out opening ceremony to the closing night of unforgettable moments with Great Masters of Jazz, the 2019 DC JazzFest presented by Events DC was marked by one stellar performance after another. The Festival continues to grow in scope and in prominence, so fans are reminded to make plans now for the 2020 DC JazzFest presented by Events DC, scheduled for June 12-20.

 

DC Field Day

Field Day Is Coming To RFK Campus!

Your favorite games and activities from elementary school are making a comeback in a big way at the new Fields at RFK this month. On Saturday, July 27, local active lifestyle group DC Fray will bring sack races, a giant obstacle course, tug-of-war and more to the Fields at RFK for their 2nd annual DC Field Day.

The event aims to recreate “your best school days at a whole new level” and will gather hundreds of young professionals from the DMV for a day of outrageous games and activities all reimagined for adults. DC Field Day includes more than just games, it will also feature food, music, an all-day bar and other fun surprises for participants.

Attendees can pre-register teams of 6+ players, as a small group, or join solo to be matched with a team. Teams can be co-ed and there is no required gender ratio. The Fields at RFK will host this event for the first time after it was previously held at the RFK Festival Grounds. To learn more, visit www.retrofieldday.com.

 

Community Grant

Applications For FY20 Community Grants Due August 1, 2019

Events DC is now accepting applications for the first of two cycles of its Fiscal Year 2020 Community Grant Program. Applications for Cycle 1 are due no later than August 1, 2019; applicants will be notified of their award status by October 15, 2019. The Cycle 2 application deadline is February 1, 2020; applicants will be notified of their award status by April 15, 2020.

One-year grants awards totaling $200,000 for Fiscal Year 2020 – $100,000 per cycle, will be awarded with grant amounts ranging from a minimum single grant of $2,500 up to a maximum single grant of $25,000. Eligible non-profit organizations must support youth sports or performing arts or cultural arts in the District of Columbia.
