Because They're Funny Comedy Festival

Because They’re Funny (BTF), is a new comedy festival from the producers of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) showcasing comedic talent within BIPOC communities. Its mission is to promote the diverse talent that exists within the comedy arena and propel a new generation of artists to success in film, television, and touring. The weekend event will take place October 6-8 in Washington, DC. Curated for industry insiders and casual fans alike, the BTF lineup will feature headline acts, new comic showcases, live podcasts, comedy classes, screenings, networking and exclusive parties. Because They’re Funny Comedy Festival is a property of NICE CROWD, a leading entertainment company in the live events arena founded by Jeff and Nicole Friday. The 2023 festival is presented in partnership with Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia.
