Partnership Details and Court Enhancements Were Unveiled with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Opening Day

Today, Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for Washington, DC, announced a new partnership with the Goodman League, a cornerstone of DC’s summer basketball scene. As Presenting Sponsor for the 2025 Season, Events DC will build on the shared commitment to community empowerment, athletic excellence and the continued growth of one of the city’s most celebrated cultural institutions.

As the Presenting Sponsor, Events DC will receive prominent recognition throughout the 2025 season, with branding integrated across Goodman League platforms and events. Additionally, Events DC will support the league with court enhancements and activations for Opening Day. The partnership highlights a mutual dedication to uplifting local talent and creating impactful experiences for the DC community.

To kick off the season and commemorate the new partnership, The Goodman League and Events DC hosted a special Opening Day Celebration today at the historic Barry Farm court. The event featured remarks from Chief of Police Pamela Smith, Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Theenie Freeman, Events DC President and CEO Angie M. Gates, and Miles Rawls, longtime Commissioner and Lead Organizer of the Goodman League. The celebration included appearances by legendary players who have helped define the League’s legacy over the years.
