The Washington Convention and Sports Authority t/a Events DC (“we” or “Events DC”) has created this privacy policy statement ("Statement") in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy. Privacy on Events DC’s web site (the "Site") is of great importance to us. Since Events DC may gather information from the Site’s users, we have prepared this Statement for the purpose of communicating our information gathering and dissemination practices. We reserve the right to change this Statement and policy(ies) and will provide notification of the change at least thirty (30) days prior to the change taking effect.
Collected Information
We require users who register to use the services offered on our Site to give us information such as name, company name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and financial qualification and billing information, credit card number, and if being used by an organization, the number of users within the organization that will be using the services. At the time you express interest in obtaining additional information, or when you register for the service, we may also ask for additional personal information, such as title, department name, fax number, or additional company information, such as annual revenues, number of employees, or industry. Events DC uses the information that we collect to deliver services to you. We may also use this information to contact you about Events DC, its venues, available services and features, and events and promotions. For example, users are invited to receive a digital newsletter by providing an email address which will not be distributed or shared. You can opt out of being contacted by us, or receiving such information from us, at any time by sending an e-mail to our support staff. We may also email information regarding Events DC updates to the Site.
Events DC may also collect certain information from users to the Site, such as Internet address, which is recorded to help diagnose technical problems, and to administer our Site in order to constantly improve its quality. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from users and provide such information to third parties.

Except as we explicitly state at the time we request information, or as provided for in Events DC’s Terms of Use, we do not disclose to any third party the information provided to us. Financial and billing information that we collect through the Site is not used by Events DC for marketing or promotional purposes. Events DC uses a third party intermediary to manage the credit card processing. This intermediary is solely a link in the distribution chain, and is not permitted to store, retain, or use the information provided, except for the sole purpose of credit card processing. Other third parties may provide content on the Site but they are not permitted to collect any information and Events DC does not share any user information with these parties.
Cookies
Cookies are files that web browsers place on a computer's hard drive and are used to tell us whether users have visited the Site previously. Events DC uses cookies to help save and retrieve user names of users accessing the Site. Events DC issues a session cookie only to record encrypted authentication information for the duration of a specific session.

The Site may contain links to other web sites. Events DC does not control such third-party web sites and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other web sites. Users to the Site will need to check the privacy policy statement of these other web sites to understand their policies. Users who access a linked site may be disclosing their private information. Our Site has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of data under our control.
