CityCenterDC is thrilled to announce the return of its Annual Holiday Tree Lighting celebration on Saturday, November 30th. Now in its 11th year, this festive event attracts thousands to downtown DC to witness the lighting of a spectacular 75-foot tree, marking the start of the holiday season. Festivities kick off at 5:00 p.m., with the Tree Lighting celebration beginning at 6:00 p.m. at The Park at CityCenter, located at New York Avenue NW and 11th Street NW.

This year, CityCenterDC has partnered with Events DC to present a special performance by Grammy-nominated singer Jordin Sparks, accompanied by the American Pops Orchestra. Sparks, recognized by Billboard, the American Music Awards, and the NAACP, will deliver an unforgettable performance. NBC4
Anchor Eun Yang will emcee the event, leading up to the grand lighting of the 75-foot tree.

“The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at CityCenterDC has become a seasonal highlight, drawing both locals and visitors to celebrate this beloved community tradition,” said Timothy Lowery, Vice President – Mixed-Use at Hines and General Manager of CityCenterDC. “Every year, we aim to elevate the experience, and this season, we're thrilled to welcome Jordin Sparks and the American Pops Orchestra. With her incredible voice and festive spirit, this year’s tree lighting is set to be CityCenterDC's most unforgettable celebration yet!”

Attendees will also enjoy complimentary offerings such as face painting and balloon animals, gourmet popcorn, cotton candy, tater tots, roasted nuts, and mini donuts. Families are invited to celebrate the start of the holiday season and can look forward to a few delightful surprises along the way.

“We are happy to announce this first-time collaboration with CityCenterDC for the 2024 tree lighting celebration as the Entertainment Sponsor,” said Angie M. Gates, President and CEO of Events DC. “Events DC’s goal is always to engage, excite, and entertain visitors and locals alike with world-class
programming. We are excited to host Jordin Sparks for one of DC’s most special holiday traditions.”

In anticipation of this year’s tree lighting and the holiday season, CityCenterDC has embraced the spirit of giving and is honored to serve as a matching gift sponsor for the Children’s National Hospital’s Giving Tuesday Campaign. From now through Tuesday, December 3rd, CityCenterDC will match all donations
up to $25,000, and are proud to be supporting the foundation.

CityCenterDC invites visitors to continue celebrating the holiday spirit on December 14th and 15th, as it transforms into a breathtaking ice wonderland. The Nutcracker by CityCenterDC will showcase magnificent, larger-than-life ice sculptures, all intricately handcrafted and inspired by the beloved Nutcracker ballet. These enchanting displays will feature iconic figures like the Sugar Plum Fairy, a candy cane throne, ballet slippers, holiday drums, and more. Visitors are invited to capture magical holiday photos, enjoy festive music, and indulge in treats from a gourmet candy cart, making it a weekend to remember.

CityCenterDC’s holiday tree lighting celebration is free and open to the public and cameras are welcome.
