Events DC is excited to celebrate the 27th year of Events DC WalkingTown, an eight-day event running from September 19-26 that highlights Washington, DC's rich history, culture and art. This annual event offers an array of guided tours across all eight wards of the District, providing a unique opportunity to explore the history and hidden gems of the nation’s capital for free.
“Events DC WalkingTown is an invitation to uncover the hidden stories, vibrant murals and rich history that define the soul of our city,” said Events DC President and CEO Angie M. Gates. “Washington, DC is the Culture Capital, and there is no better way to experience it than through Events DC WalkingTown. We invite you to join us from September 19th to the 26th for Eight Days, Eight Wards, One City—a celebration of the diverse neighborhoods that make the District so extraordinary.”
This year, guests can choose tours like birdwatching on the National Mall, a stand-up comedy act complete with historical facts, bike tours and a sustainability tour, among others. Discover more about the Deanwood community. Learn about five historic moments in Brookland or 200 years of history at The Wharf. There are mural tours in the NoMa, Union Market and Adams Morgan neighborhoods. There is something for everyone.
