Washington, DC is open and ready to entertain the masses.

Whether that is at one of our dynamic conventions, a sporting event or a concert, Events DC upgraded sanitization efforts and added new technology to ensure the health and safety of our guests at our venues. They also produced videos to spread the word to event planners, guests and the greater community about the new measures.

The ADIBOT disinfecting system leads the facility’s protocols which also includes the implementation of a Dry Hydrogen Peroxide HVAC system, antimicrobial and electrostatic spraying and best-in-class air filtration. The ADIBOT system by UBTECH is armed with hospital-grade UV-C technology which inactivates 99.9% of all viruses, bacteria, and mold spores, including COVID-19, influenza and MRSA.

No contact, real-time multi-person thermal scanning was deployed throughout the Convention Center and Entertainment & Sports Arena. Using the latest technology from Certify.Me and Kogniz, body temperatures of individuals and groups of people entering the venues are measured while using artificial intelligence to factor in environmental effects.

The Aramark Environmental Services team’s commitment to aggressive cleaning and hygiene has led them to implement the integrated and enhanced Aramark EverSafe™ sanitation, disinfection and hygiene program.

Also, SurfaceGuard’s high-grade COVID-19 remediation and health and safety reporting system were deployed at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Entertainment &Sports Arena, DC Armory and The Fields at RFK Campus as part of their venues’ health and safety reopening efforts.

All of the new technologies helped Events DC earn the WELL Health-Safety Rating and GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Entertainment & Sports Arena and DC Armory. The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all new and existing building and space types focusing on operational policies, maintenance protocols, stakeholder engagement and emergency plans to address a post-COVID-19 environment now and into the future. The GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation is awarded by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC)®, a Division of ISSA, for its preeminent cleaning, disinfection and infection prevention strategies.
