Awesome Con Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary June 16 - 18 

WHAT

Awesome Con 2023, the capital region’s premier comic and pop culture convention, is coming back to Washington, D.C.'s Walter E. Washington Convention Center Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18. 

On Friday, June 16th, Awesome Con will hold an official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Mayor Muriel Bowser’s official proclamation naming June 16th, 2023 as “Awesome Con Day.” Awesome Con will also celebrate the 10th Anniversary with remarks from Greg Topalian, CEO of Leftfield Media and Ben Penrod, Founder of Awesome Con. The ceremony will take place at 12:30pm on L Street outside of the Hall D entrance. 



ALREADY REGISTERED?

Registered press must check-in onsite at the Awesome Con Press Office, Room 159A, and must show their mobile QR code along with a valid ID upon arrival. All credentialed media will receive a mobile QR code via email. 

The Awesome Con press pass allows media access to open events, space permitting, but does not include special access or guaranteed seating at any events that are first come, first served, or any ticketed panels. While media are welcome to queue with Awesome Con attendees for autographs or photo opportunities with special guests, a press pass does not provide preferential access or interview access during these opportunities. Everyone attending Awesome Con must follow all event rules, which can be found online

For photos and autographs with celebrity guests, press must purchase tickets online.

Qualified media interested in attending Awesome Con must register online. See the application for more information. Applications will receive a response within 1-2 days. All media must submit applications prior to Friday, June 16 for consideration. The application portal will close on Thursday, June 15 at 5PM. Please apply individually per registrant.

Please note: Awesome Con’s celebrity guests are not taking press interviews during the show. If you are interested in requesting interviews with guests, panelists, or Awesome Con organizers, please email awesomecon@lindarothpr.com. Interviews are not guaranteed and will be based on availability. Broadcast crews are welcome to film one hour before the exhibit hall opens and during all regular exhibit hall hours. For crews requesting earlier access, please contact awesomecon@lindarothpr.com.
