Events DC is proud to present the 18th annual Passport DC, a month-long journey around the world – right in the heart of the nation’s capital. Taking place throughout the month of May, Passport DC invites Washingtonians and visitors alike to explore international culture through embassy open houses, global cuisine, traditional performances and vibrant displays of art, music and dance.
“Passport DC is one of Washington, DC’s most cherished traditions," said Events DC President and CEO Angie M. Gates. "This hallmark event truly embodies the essence of our city: dynamic, inclusive and globally connected. Each year, it serves as a reminder that despite our diverse backgrounds, we can unite through art, culture, cuisine and shared experiences. Throughout the month of May, we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to explore the world through extraordinary events in our nation’s capital."
Passport DC celebrates the city’s rich diplomatic community, with more than 70 embassies and cultural organizations participating in signature events that highlight global heritage and foster cross-cultural connections. Last year, the program welcomed more than 250,000 visits from across the region and around the world.
Stay updated on Passport DC with the Events DC app. This year, visitors who download the Events DC App from their app store will be able to see landmarks in augmented reality (AR) and receive a virtual stamp as they visit participating embassies, restaurants and cultural events. Visitors can get their virtual passport stamped for points towards a final prize at the end of the month. The app also lists restaurants participating in Savor the Flavors and other international programming throughout May.
