Passport DC, May 1-31

  • 2026 is the 19th year of Passport DC.
  • In 2007, the European Union Delegation asked its embassies to host open houses and invite the public to learn about their nations’ culture, history, cuisine and more. A year later, Cultural Tourism DC convened a working group and approached non-European embassies to offer a second Saturday in May for open houses. Since then, we’ve added a restaurant component and invited the public to visit our local cultural institutions as well. The two Saturdays of embassy open houses plus the Fiesta Asia street fair became Passport DC.
